Planning Process

Depending on size and complexity of project, some or all these steps may be employed.

  • Inventory assets: physical, cultural, structural, historical.
     

  • Identify challenges and opportunities.
     

  • Develop comprehensive program of client needs.
     

  • Understand the budget and phasing opportunities if applicable.
     

  • Develop "bubble" schematic diagrams; review with client and modify as needed.
     

  • Develop design concept into master plan; review with client and modify as needed. 

     

  • Produce construction documents with detailed layout, dimensions, materials, lighting and electrical, irrigation, planting plan, and other as needed. 

     

  • Produce specifications manual for project process, details and management. 

     

  • Produce documents for formal or informal bid requests. 

     

  • Supervise construction.
